Introduction

Arm-R-Lite wood Carriage House doors were created for those who love the look of the "traditional" carriage house doors but want the convenience of an overhead sectional door. These beautiful doors come in many different styles and wood choices.

Specification

Wood sectional upward acting doors shall be Arm-R-Lite Door Mfg. Co. Carriage House doors of sizes shown on plans and shall embody the following particulars:

Sections: Sections start with a flush core that is made from 1 1/8" thick Mahogany. The core is then assembled in typical stile and rail configuration with the addition of wooden members added to mirror the outside face lamination. All voids are filled with polystyrene insulation. Pressed laminated ¼" plywood is adhered to each side of the frame. Following the pressing of the lamination all face lumber is applied. Stile and rails are created from 5/4" thick lumber. Biscuit joinery is used where the vertical stiles meet the horizontal rails. The field area of the face lamination is filled with ¾" thick tongue and groove lumber.

Finishes: Meranti Mahogany, Western Red Cedar, and Honduras Mahogany are the predominant species used. Other species are available upon request.

Insulation: Polystyrene insulation with an R-Value of 6.

Panels: Panels are available in raised, double raised, or flat panels.

Glass: All glass openings shall be true-divided individual pieces of glass. All glass lites over one square foot are safety glass. Glass options include: tempered, laminated, insulated, leaded stained glass, and Hand Blown Lite Seeded Restoration glass.

Track: Arm-R-Tite galvanized 2" or 3" track as required by door size, vertical track bracket or angle mounted, horizontal track angle mounted.

Hardware: Stamped 14 Ga. galvanized steel.

Rollers: Heavy-duty full ball bearing with hardened inner race.

Counter Balance: Torsion springs, cast aluminum drums, air craft cable.

Basic Use: Arm-R-Lite Carriage House Upward Acting Sectional Doors are designed for residential and commercial applications. Common uses of the Carriage Doors are residential garages, restaurants, and historic districts.

4. TECHNICAL DATA

Composition and Materials: Sections are made of clear, kiln-dried wood. Western Red Cedar, Honduras Mahogany, or other desired lumber species are available. The doors feature cabinet-grade joinery and an R-Value of 6.

Glazing: Glazing options include the following tempered, laminated, insulated, Hand Blown Lite Seeded Restoration glass, or leaded stained glass.

Track: Arm-R-Tite galvanized 2" or 3" track is available; vertical track bracket or angle mounted, horizontal track angle mounted. 32" radius is available for 10’ or 12’ high doors for an extra smooth turn, providing 24" of high lift. 15" radius, low headroom, vertical lift and follow the roof pitch track is available.

Hardware: All hardware is made of heavy duty 14 gauge galvanized steel. Rollers are a heavy-duty full ball bearing with a hardened inner race.
