A LOFTY IDEA
SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA

The Customer’s Challenge:
For starters, finding upward-acting glass garage rollup doors large enough to serve as walls two-stories-high for a complex of loft apartments. These 12-feet wide by 16-feet tall doors also had to meet stringent guidelines in order to function directly within the living space: when closed, the doors needed to buffer street noise, to filter out ultraviolet light, and to keep out the elements like rain and heat. Water leakage thus proved the main challenge for the building owner and architect before they called upon Arm-R-Lite’s half-century of door expertise.
The Arm-R-Lite Solution:
Our Titan Model Glass Garage Rollup Door reinforced with a special water-resistant feature came to the rescue. Only a super-strong door could smoothly lift the heavy 7/16-inch glass needed to protect against sound, light, and heat transmission. The Titan Model aluminum door, designed precisely for heavy loads, met that test. But Arm-R-Lite subjected the door to even more tests by simulating rainy weather conditions to ensure the door would prevent water infiltration. After approximately 18 months, from concept to end product, Arm-R-Lite confidently delivered doors that enhance these lovely loft environments with their flexibility and durability. The doors can be opened to create an open-air setting in nice weather. And when closed, in any kind of weather, the doors do a great job of keeping Mother Nature at bay.
